PCRP NEWS LETTER

Welcome to our January 2023 News Letter Fellow Putnam County Republicans: We know that complacency can lead to misery unless we stay vigilant in promoting and voting for Republican ideals and candidates, but we have a great deal to be thankful for here in Georgia and Putnam County (PC). In 2022, Republicans swept to victories in all the PC Ballot except U.S. senator, keeping our Trifecta in the state houses (since 2005) and keeping Democrats shut out for the fourth straight four-year cycle at the state level, despite Democrats' breakthrough on the federal level in 2020 and Census re-districting. Republicans won: Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, Georgia Superintendent of Schools and Commissioners of Agriculture, Insurance and Labor. Republicans also maintained our majorities in Georgia's Legislature, winning 101 of 180 House seats and 33 of 56 Senate seats All Republicans on the local PC Ballot won except BOE District 2 (which was close), including Clint Crowe, Mike Collins, Rick Williams, Trey Rhodes, Bill Sharp and Alan Foster. Putnam County did its job, with 65% voter turnout vs State 57% in the Election; and 58 % vs 51% State in the Runoff - and over 70% voted Republican! In this regard, your elected PCRP Committee worked tirelessly the past two years, focusing on Electing Republicans, Community awareness on national and state voting political issues and Community Outreach and involvement. With your support we believe we in PCRP had a hand in these impressive election results. But we need to continue the fight, and with your help and support we will continue working to better our lives and the future of America. For 2023 we will focus on both short and long term efforts: • Short Term focus on Republican Convention efforts (below for opportunities and details) • County Convention Saturday, Mar 11 • 10th District Convention Saturday, Apr 22 • Georgia State Convention Friday-Saturday, June 9-10 • Fill Delegate quota and all Committee Vacancies Long Term efforts include: • Increase PCRP membership and Social Media followers • increase Community Activism, increase effectiveness to keep PC voters Informed and raise funds to build up the PCRP “war chest.” • Actively seek out and recruit quality future Republican candidates for 2024 and beyond. • And continue the good fight! Convention information: • If you want a say in your party and its direction, attending or volunteering for the County Convention is a great way to do it! • 2023 is the Convention Cycle where we elect county officers, district officers and state officers. • Our Putnam County Convention will take place Saturday, March 11, 2023. Precinct Caucuses will take place that morning at 9 am and the Convention will begin at 10:00 am. We will advise you of the Convention location and other details via email as arrangements are confirmed. The Convention Announcement and details will also be published in the Eatonton Messenger prior to the event. Precinct Caucuses are conducted for each of the 5 Putnam County Precincts to elect Delegates and Alternates to the County Convention. Precinct Caucuses will start promptly at 9:00 am. Coffee and snacks will be available during the break between the Precinct Caucuses and the County Convention, which will begin at 10 am. The County Convention is where we elect Delegates and Alternates to the District and State Convention and County Committee candidates run for officer positions. This is where the rubber meets the road. Make sure you mark your calendars for this important event. Our goal is to have every Republican Party member’s voice heard, to fill every PC delegate quota, and to fill every PCRP County Committee position from these important convention election results. We encourage your attendance and participation. If you would like to volunteer to help in the convention, understand the offices available for candidates, or if you have questions, please contact Dale Bills at dalecbills@gmail.com Please follow us on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/ThePutnamCountyGARepublicanParty/ Check out our Website at: https://putnamcountyrepublicanparty.com Thank you, Dale C.
